THE CERTAINTY THAT ONLY ONE MANUFACTURER CAN GIVE YOU
The main timber components in Aktivhaus buildings are manufactured in the company’s own production plant: the load-bearing structures made from X-LAM panels undergo strict controls, in accordance with the reference standards that guarantee their quality.
The Aktivhaus production plant, in a joint venture with Artuso Legnami, complies with the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards and gives priority to complete customer satisfaction, while fully adhering to the quality and principles of green building.
All the structural timber products and X-LAM – CROSS LAMINATED TIMBER – panels have CE certification, issued to the company by the Austrian certification body Holzcert.
They are 100% non-toxic, thanks to the use of solvent and formaldehyde-free adhesives, and made exclusively with timber from sawmills certified by the PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification).
HIGHLY ENERGY-EFFICIENT BUILDINGS
Passive houses, or NZEBs, are the result of a design method that ensures wellness without having to use traditional heating and cooling systems.
Thanks to better insulation, controlled mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, protection from overheating, extremely energy-efficient windows and doors, the absence of thermal and acoustic bridges and advanced construction techniques, passive houses minimise energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions.
Passive house principles have become an international reference point for sustainable architecture and have led to the construction of over 45,000 buildings in Europe; by 2018, the Passivhaus Standard will be mandatory for all new public buildings, and it will also be adopted for residential and tertiary buildings by 2020.
Active houses are a further conquest: they actually produce more energy than they require, thanks to careful design and the integration of renewable energy sources; comfort and wellness are assured and, thanks to Aktivhaus’ exclusive “ZeroPositivo®” project, the extra energy can be stored and reused when needed, or else fed into the national grid, with significant economic benefits.
